A downloadable asset pack

I was fairly inspired by Amanda Walker's recent multiplayer game for ParserComp, The Purple Pearl. You can find it on the interactive fiction database (ifdb.org).

I have several ideas around her 2-interlinked-game-file model, but the one I'll share today links into her idea about hints.

In The Purple Pearl, to encourage cooperation, each player only has the hints for their partner's game and visa versa.

I was thinking this could be turned on its head. What if the setup was adversarial, but every time you wanted a hint, it would provide a code you had to give to the other player. The player, upon entering this code would receive a hint themselves and a code to return to you, which upon typing it in, reveals the hint you originally requested.

Basically, every time you ask for help, your opponent also gets help.

Was thinking this could tie into every time you did something that would change the world state for your opponent, it would provide a code you need to give them, which they punch in to produce the code you need to continue.

This helps interlink the two entries and keep them in sync while letting both parties proceed asynchronously.

I was thinking something lighthearted and fun, like Spy vs. Spy.
