THOUGHTS ON PRAGMATICS:

This game would have a few different modes. The interviewing would be dialog driven, but I'd be tempted to stay away from parsers on this one. The rest of the game I could see having almost a "Papers Please" format, and I remain uncertain which Engine would best suit this approach.

Also, in the examples, the two case law examples would be merely starting points and you would log into this reality's version of LexisNexis or Casetext to pull at that thread. Also, as you proceed with each case, new details become available and your  supervising attorney may pop in on you occasionally for various reasons. I was thinking about including a feline colleague who is also a paralegal, but is lazy and content to take things upon initial appearances. They'd be the voice deriding the player for wasting all that time and effort, and can be seen frequently napping throughout the law office.

My biggest concern with this, even with entirely fictional clients, case law, and legal code, is that I am not a paralegal. I fear that in trying to breathe life into this game, my ignorance will become apparent.

While this whole thing would be fictional, I would want it inspired by real case law and norms in the industry. I would want players to come away feeling they learned a little bit about what a paralegal does and the challenges they face.

That's about the best I could do after chewing on it (no pun intended) for a few hours.
